Tips for scanning or photographing the original

Input quality makes a big difference. A clean capture of the original helps the AI rebuild more faithfully — but don't worry if all you have is your phone: our model is also trained on phone-camera captures.

• Use indirect natural light and avoid reflections on the paper.
• If scanning, use at least 600 dpi for small prints, 300 dpi for postcard size.
• Place the photo on a dark, flat surface.
• Frame just the photo, no album or frame around it.
• If it's glued into an album, don't peel it: photograph it as-is.
• Save as maximum-quality JPG or PNG.
